Enterprise Rent-A-Car, the world's largest rental car company, has created 15 new jobs in Ireland following the opening of new
branches at Dublin, Shannon and Cork Airports.
By the end of the month, Enterprise will have opened new dedicated branches in four airports since last year, including Dublin (in both Terminal 1 and 2), Cork, Shannon and Donegal, which employ a total of 35 people.
George O'Connor, Group Managing Director of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Ireland said: "The new branches at Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports mean that we now have a dedicated presence at four major airports across Ireland including Donegal. These are important for us to serve international corporate and leisure customers and represent a significant growth opportunity. The airport expansion has meant that we have to recruit a further 15 employees to our branch network. This improved presence will help us expand the Enterprise business in Ireland this year."
The investment in Ireland's airports is part of Enterprise's wider global expansion strategy to establish the company at international transport hubs and off-airport locations in key European markets. Enterprise Rent-A-Car already serves customers at many major European airports including Frankfurt, Charles de Gaulle Paris, London Heathrow, Madrid Barajas and
Amsterdam Schiphol.
O'Connor added: "The expansion of our airport network to all major airports in Ireland has been driven by the continued growth that Enterprise has experienced in the domestic and corporate markets across Europe and the United States. It means that our customers can now rent from Enterprise far more conveniently for their leisure and business needs both to and from the
airport. These new airport locations are also supported by our network of more than 20 branches in major towns and cities throughout Ireland."
Enterprise has continued to grow in Ireland since it opened its first branch in 1997. The business now operates more than 3,000 cars and vans across the country and employs more than 200 people across 25 branches.
