Euro Car Parts Ltd, an LKQ company, has announced the acquisition of HELLA’s wholesale business activities, HELLA Ireland based in Dublin, with immediate effect. The move extends the Euro Car Parts Ltd (ECP) reach into the Irish market further. Currently the company trades from Northern Ireland reaching locations in southern Ireland via their northern branch network.

ECP Chief Executive Officer, Martin Gray said, “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of HELLA´s wholesale activities in Ireland, further enhancing the Euro Car Parts distribution network.” UK Chairman and LKQ Board Member Sukhpal Singh Ahluwalia added, “This heralds a great move for us and we are delighted to welcome the passionate and knowledgeable team in HELLA Ireland into the Euro Car Parts family.”

HELLA Ireland has over the years transformed into an important aftermarket wholesaler, offering services across Ireland. The current customer support team, based in the Dublin offices will remain as part of the acquisition, safeguarding current jobs. In the short term, HELLA Ireland will continue to trade under the HELLA brand name, with no change to customer delivery and service.

Dominik Goerts, Member of the Executive Board of HELLA’s business division Aftermarket and Special OE commented, “In the segment of automotive wholesale industry, HELLA has decided to focus its Nordic Forum business model to mainly supply garages in other European markets to further develop our position in dynamic market regions.”  He also explained that HELLA will remain a partner of the Independent Aftermarket in Ireland and that there are no changes to the UK market supplied by HELLA UK.

With the acquisition of the site by Euro Car Parts Ltd, the UK based parts specialist, aims to enhance its distribution model in Ireland which already achieves 92% coverage across the United Kingdom. Since its inception 38 years ago, Euro Car Parts has become the largest automotive aftermarket specialist in Europe with over 9,000 employees in over 200 branches.
