Hella Ireland has made more significant additions to its product portfolio introducing new Denso EGR Valves.
Replacement EGR Valves are one of the big growth areas in the aftermarket at present. EGR valves play a crucial role in new automotive vehicle technology dramatically reducing emissions on modern vehicles in line with European regulations. These sophisticated components perform a complex task, mixing the engine’s exhaust gas with the intake air as appropriate for the driving conditions, reducing the concentration of oxygen in the intake air and slowing the combustion speed.
A small passageway exists between the intake and exhaust manifolds. This is where the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve is located and where it adjusts the amount of re-circulated exhaust gas back into the intake manifold. When the engine is idling, the EGR Valve is closed and there is no EGR flow into the intake manifold. The EGR Valve remains closed until the engine is warm and operating under load. As the load and combustion temperature starts to increase, the EGR Valve is opened and begins to send exhaust gas back into the intake manifold
Due to the technological advances achieved in EGR control and catalyst technology, cleaner exhaust emissions can been achieved even under lean-burn conditions inside
EGR valves come in a number of different variations, Step motor type, Solenoid type and DC motor type. Denso offers an expanding range of high quality replacement EGR valves for the aftermarket. The range is distributed by Hella Ireland. For more information call 01 862 0000.
