Febi provides VW seized throttle body solution

Parts specialist febi has issued a useful protip regarding the throttle body which is fitted to many Audi, Seat, Skoda, Volkswagen, and Mitsubishi, models with 1.9 and 2.0 TDi Engines.

Market intelligence suggests that on these vehicles the engine management lamp may illuminate, performance will decrease, there will be increased engine temperature and/or engine shuddering during switch off. On diagnosis, the fault codes logged may often relate to the throttle body, intake manifold flap and coolant fan motor.

These symptoms can be caused by an excessive build-up of carbon deposits, failed throttle body drive components or a seized throttle plate. This results in a blown fuse which protects both the cooling fan and throttle body circuits.

The solution is to check and rectify all circuits relating to the faulty component and replace throttle body with a quality new component. febi offer this in demand part in it range, part no. 44945.
