Fiat and Ford are cutting production of their mini SUV's due to a crash in sales in Europe.
Fiat is temporarily halted production of the Fiat 500L at its factory in Serbia, because of falling sales in Europe.
Meanwhile Ford is also taking a break from manufacturing of the B-Max in Romania for nine days this month, also because of a dip in their sales figures for the car.
Fiat did not say how long production would be halted. Serbian media said the plant was halting production for four days only.
Ford, on the other hand took over struggling local carmaker Automobile Craiova in 2008 and started producing its B-Max model there four years later where they employ 4,000 people.
European sales of the B-Max fell 19.5 percent to 36,167 in the first seven months compared with the same period last year.
