Fiat and Chrysler branding plans

Details of how the alliance between carmakers Fiat and Chrysler will impact on the European car market are now becoming clearer, after a widespread assessment of their operations. It appears Chrysler models will eventually be re-badged as Lancias in continental Europe, however, the Chrysler name will be retained in Ireland and the UK.

It also appears that the number of Europe wide Lancia and Chrysler dealers will be dramatically reduced, while the Chrysler owned Dodge brand will remain and concentrate on niche markets with models such as the Charger, Challenger and Viper. Current Chrysler dealers that sell Jeeps will be offered new dedicated franchise contracts for the off-roader range.
