Álvaro de la Cruz has been appointed Head of Communications of FIGIEFA, the European federation and political representative in Brussels of the independent wholesalers and retailers of automotive replacement parts and their associated repair chains.

Prior to joining FIGIEFA, Álvaro held various roles in the political and institutional communication field and was most recently Communications and New Media Officer at the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies. Before that, he also held positions including Communications Lead at the Digital KIC of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT Digital) and the Office of the Prime Minister of Spain. In addition, he has worked closely with Mobility stakeholders while leading the marketing activities of the ‘Digital Cities’ Action line at EIT Digital.

“We are pleased to welcome Álvaro to the FIGIEFA family. His knowledge of Marketing and Communications as well as his digital background provide the key ingredients to lead our Pan-European Comms’ strategy. We look forward to seeing Álvaro delivering a 2.0 boost to our activities and content across the Continent,” said FIGIEFA’s CEO, Sylvia Gotzen.

Álvaro de la Cruz said, “I’m really excited to be joining the FIGIEFA team. I am looking forward to strengthening their impact, awareness, and reach while helping defend the interests of the automotive aftermarket distributors’ European industry.”
