Handling Network, the leading Irish Materials Handling & Distribution publication has been acquired by Fleet Publications.

Founded in 1999 by Anselm Aherne and John Mannion, the bi-monthly Handling Network magazine is acknowledged in the industry as a publication of the highest standards in terms of content, design and print quality presentation. Since then Handling Network has enjoyed the loyalty of a strong readership, which is a testament to its success.

Commenting on the deal, Jarlath Sweeney, Group Editor at Fleet Publications said: "We are pleased to be the successful bidder for the purchase of Handling Network. Over the years, I have always admired the excellent presentation and the high quality content of the publication constantly achieved by Anselm and John. We wish them well in their retirement and we plan to continue their good work into the future. In acquiring this title, it dovetails nicely with what we do and a perfect fit for our Fleet Transport magazine, which covers road haulage and the commercial vehicle sectors. We have a few ideas in mind on how we can expand the portfolio of Handling Network in line with the progress made with our other titles."

Retiring after 15 years publishing Handling Network, previous owners Anselm Aherne and John Mannion believe the move guarantees high quality content and presentation to the publication’s existing readership, while continuing to provide an ideal platform for its strong advertiser base within the handling and distribution sector.

“John and I are delighted that Fleet Publications has acquired Handling Network, which is a perfect fit with Fleet Transport – Ireland’s leading commercial vehicle magazine. We know that Jarlath and his team will bring new energy and fresh ideas to the title and we wish his organisation every success into the future,” added Anselm Aherne.

Fleet Publications, established in 2002 publishes Fleet Transport magazine and its supplements Fleet Van & Utility, Fleet Car, Fleet Bus & Coach, Fleet Trailer & BodyBuilder and Fleet Maritime as well as Caravan Cruise Ireland. The Claremorris, County Mayo based company also hosts the successful Fleet Transport Awards and Fleet Car Awards each year together with the Fleet Bus & Coach Awards biennially.
