If you can’t fill them paint them. That is the ingenious solution of two Italian teenage engineering students, to the Europe wide problem of potholes. With many governments unable to find the cash to fix pot holes, students Domenico Diego and Cristina Corradini, have persuaded Italian road safety authorities to adopt their plan of simply painting all the holes bright yellow.
"If you can't afford to repair them at least let people see them, so they have a fighting chance of avoiding them," said Domenico. Adding, "it could save countless accidents and save motorists a fortune on damage to their cars."
The only problem it would seem with adopting this policy in parts of Ireland, is that some places may end up resembling scenes from the Wizard of Oz.
