Connect Workshop Consumables can offer a simple solution to the common problem of broken crankshaft position sensor connectors.

The plastic on these connectors is often affected by heat and the older the connector, the more brittle it becomes. This means it can become easily damaged when unclipping. Added to this, often the dealer will only sell a complete, more expensive, connector and the associated wiring spur.

Connect Workshop Consumables offer a range of connectors including one for the Ford EcoBlue engine and JLR 2.0 litre diesel engines. The 3-Pin Crankshaft Sensor Connector Kit for Ford EcoBlue is part number 39862 and the 3-Pin Crankshaft Sensor Connector Kit for JLR applications is part number 39865.

Both these kits include two new 3-pin female connectors complete with the correct non-insulated terminals and weatherproof seals to fit the crankshaft position sensor. To install the technician simply releases the wiring and connectors from the existing, broken connector and refits to the new connector. If the metal terminals are damaged, new ones are supplied.

The 39862 kit fits the crankshaft position sensor as fitted to the 2.0L Ford EcoBlue diesel engine used on the Focus, Galaxy and S MAX , from 2018,  Mondeo and Ranger from 2019 and Tourneo and Transit Custom from 2016. It also fits some BMW applications (OEM cross reference 805-121-521, 030/413190520 and BMW 7-615-490-24).

The 39865 kit fits the crankshaft position sensor as fitted to certain Jaguar E-Pace, F-Pace, XE, XF II, , XF Sportbrake and Land/Range Rover applications (OEM cross reference 761 5637-04, 03/413190129, 7-615-637-04).

Both kits include two 3-pin female connectors, 6 non-insulated terminals (also available as Connect part number 37487) and 6 weatherproof seals (part number 37376).

These are available from Connect Workshop Consumable stockists.
