The Volkswagen Scirocco coupé will make a comeback this autumn with a new model based on the current Golf chassis. The initial versions will have 200bhp 2.0T FSI petrol engines and will be followed by TSI and TDI diesel versions later in the year.
Meanwhile VW has also revealed that it is close to the introduction of its first hybrid model, a version of the Golf which it says can achieve 83mpg and emit just 89g/km of CO2. Officially the Golf TDI Hybrid is just a concept at this stage, but insiders believe a production version is not far away.
