The countdown to Autoinform LIVE, Ireland’s largest ever automotive aftermarket training event, is now on with only just over 5 weeks to go before it takes place in Cork on April 27th and 28th.

This training weekend is open to all mechanics, technicians and garage operators and provides a unique opportunity to get trained by true experts in their fields from all over Europe.

As well as providing practical hints and tips that can be applied in the workshop immediately, many of the training modules  also look at developing aspects of automotive technology and the potentially lucrative opportunities these can present. One such area is ADAS calibration and at Autoinform LIVE, Neil Hilton and Martyn Shaw from Hella will be on hand to deliver a key training module and practical demonstration of a calibration procedure.

Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) are now fitted to most new vehicles and have also been in the market for many years, meaning the independent aftermarket is now encountering them with fast growing regularity. At the same time calibration equipment is becoming more affordable, meaning progressive garages and bodyshops can invest and keep profitable work, that may have been outsourced, in-house.

The Hella training module covers ADAS awareness including both camera and radar systems currently fitted to vehicles, what is controlled, calibration requirements and duty of care. The session includes a live calibration on a vehicle using the HGS CSC tool. It will also give a better understanding of the technology and the consequences of incorrect calibration.

The Hella experts will also show how calibration opportunities are far more commonplace than you may initially think with instances ranging from accident repairs, and suspension work, through to windscreen replacement and tyre and wheel damage caused by pothole or kerb impacts.

Other training modules at Autoinform LIVE cover many other additional business opportunities as well as areas such as s workshop efficiency and business promotion. You can download the Training Brochure which contains a list of training modules and expert presenters here.

Autoinform LIVE Ireland takes place on Saturday April 27th and Sunday April 28th in Little Island, Cork.
