In the accident repair industry you will often hear the term invisible repair, but this has been given a whole new meaning by a see-through car recently sold at auction in the USA.

Don’t worry about this being new technology or a design innovation of the future, as this was built by General Motors for the 1939-40 New York World Fair.

Modelled on a Pontiac and nick named the ghost car, it is said to be the first transparent car built in America and is now thought to be the only one of its kind in existence. It uses a material called Plexiglass for all areas that would normally be metal bodywork. The unique vehicle sold for over €200,000 at auction.
