Bodyshop equipment specialist Car-O-Liner has announced that General Motors has approved the CMI 300 Pulse MIG/MAG welder.
The welders, which are approved for aluminium and steel welding during structural repairs on GM vehicles, are: the CMI 300 Pulse Single, CMI 300 Pulse Duo and CMI 300 Pulse Trio, with various voltages available in each model type.
The Duo version has room for two 15 kg wire coils and the Trio version for three 5 kg wire coils, providing easy switch-over between operations without change of hose, wire, wire drive rolls and gas. The machine will automatically establish which torch/wire feed unit is active.
The welders offer many benefits which make repair jobs quicker and easier. The double plus ensures precise control of the arc and minimises weld spatter, while the four roll wire system allows stable wire feeding. The units have tacho control of the wire for ultra precise feeding and an LED light in the console for easy change of wire and wire rolls in low light environments. An arc adjustment function offers precision adjustment between a soft and hard arc.
The welder’s software can be easily updated via an SD card and there is a facility to log and display welding data for compliance documentation.
The CMI 300 Pulse Welders join a long list of other Car-O-Liner equipment approved by GM which includes; CMI 3000 II MIG/MAG, CMI 273 MIG/MAG, CTR9 Resistance Spot Welder, CTR 12000 Resistance Spot Welder and measuring and repair systems, BenchRack, Quick42, EVO and Car-O-Tronic Vision2 X1, X2 & X3.
