NGK-sponsored riders have made an impressive start in the first FIM Speedway Grand Prix of the 2018 season.
Four-time World Champion Greg Hancock collected eight points in the Polish GP, the same as fellow-sponsored Russian rider Emil Sayfutdinov and one fewer than Slovenian Matej Zagar.
Great Britain’s Tai Woffinden won the GP in Warsaw ahead of home hero Maciej Janowski and last year’s winner Fredrik Lindgren.
NGK Spark Plugs Marketing Manager Mark Hallam said, “It was an encouraging start by the NGK-sponsored riders with all three winning heats in Poland. I’m sure they will all be working hard to produce even better performances over the course of the season.”
NGK, a leading supplier of original equipment spark plugs, glow plugs and NTK Lambda and other engine management sensors, is a long-standing supporter of Speedway and sponsors a number of top riders as well as the Wolverhampton Wolves Speedway team.
Next up for the SGP stars is the Czech SGP in Prague on May 26.
