Ford has announced an ambitious plan to run a rally series based on low

emission, E85 ethanol. The ethanol is actually sourced from milk and derived from renewable sources of grass and cereals - upon which the cows that produce the milk are fed.

The launch of the Maxol E85 Ford Fiesta Sporting Trophy in Galway recently, marks the first time that a motor racing event with an environmental angle has been launched in Ireland. All the events will be staged on tarmac and will use special, rally prepared Ford Fiesta ST models, with full roll cages and engines tuned to run on E85

The following five stages of the Rally will take place at the UAC Easter Rally (March 23 venue to be confirmed); Killarney (May 4); Letterkenny (June 15); Armagh (August 23) and Cork City (September 28).
