Details were announced of the Honda Powering Local Dreams Mini’s Rugby initiative, in conjunction with the PRO14 Final Series.

As the official car partner of the PRO14 Final Series Honda wanted to support local mini’s rugby clubs in Ireland by giving them the chance to play at half-time at the final of the PRO14 in the Aviva Stadium on the 26th of May and they will also receive a jersey signed by their provinces rugby stars.

Every club in Ireland with an U12s minis team is welcome to enter by filling in an application form and submitting a 2-minute video showcasing why they should play at the final. A panel of judges will shortlist all entries down to 3 from each province in Ireland and an overall winner from Leinster, Munster, Connaught and Ulster will be chosen by a public online vote.

It is free to enter, and the closing date for receipt of applications is Monday the 16th of April. The overall winners will be announced on Monday the 14th of May.

John Saunders, Sales and Marketing Director, Universal Honda Ltd. Said: Under our ‘Powering Local Dreams’ umbrella, we are delighted to be launching our Mini’s Rugby competition. As the official car partner of the PRO14 final series we wanted to give an opportunity to support young and up and coming players through this competition and help make some dreams come through. I would like to invite every U12 rugby group from Ireland to take part and formally wish them all good luck”.
