The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) has appointed Mike Smallbone as Membership Development Manager.

Mike has more than 35 years experience in the automotive industry, having worked in roles with Halfords, Cafco Automotive, Allparts Automotive and most recently Parts Alliance where he worked as business development manager heading up the group’s garage programmes.

In his role as membership development manager, Mike will be tasked with supporting existing members and growing IAAF’s membership of garages, motor factors, distributors and suppliers.

He will also be responsible for creating new initiatives, products and services that support members’ business and increase the awareness of IAAF’s wide-ranging activities.

Mike said: “I am delighted to be joining the IAAF in what is a hugely exciting but challenging time for the automotive aftermarket. In my new role, I will be dedicated to supporting members and turning industry threats to our sector into opportunities, in order to build on the successes already achieved by the federation.”

IAAF chief executive, Wendy Williamson, added: “I’m sure members will join myself and the IAAF council in welcoming Mike to the IAAF. Interest in IAAF membership and its activities continues to grow and with Mike joining the team, he will be able to fully demonstrate the work the Federation does on behalf of members.”
