INA opens up opportunities for independents

Schaeffler is continuing to help independent garages deal with new business opportunities by adding to its range of INA tensioner solutions.

Vehicle manufacturers are beginning to recommend service intervals for changing components, for example, the Nissan service schedule for the Nissan Qashqai 1.5dCi recommends changing the timing belt and rollers at 72.000 miles and at the same time replacing the auxiliary drive belt and tensioner, warning that failure to do so can result in serious engine damage.

INA is now offering an enhanced range of new products to enable independent workshops to cater for this trend and has launched a number of Front End Auxiliary Drive (FEAD) v-ribbed belt sets, including belt and all components, for a wide variety of models, including the Nissan Qashqai, and the Renault Kangoo 1.5dCi, 06/2012-.

There’s also similar kits for vehicles that include the Ford Galaxy 1.9 TDi 03/1995-05/2006, VAG Alhambra, Cordoba, Ibiza, Inca, Caddy, Golf, Passat, Polo and Sharan 1.9SDi and 1.9TDi, 09/1996-03/2010, and PSA Berlingo, C5, Nemo, Xsara, Picasso, 206, 407 and Partner 1.4HDi and 1.6HDi, 09/2005-, plus the Mercedes-Benz A-Class and B-Class 1.5CDi, 06-2012-.

The new additions follow the company’s introduction of timing belt kits with OE quality water pumps which provide an enhanced range in line with the service offered by franchised dealers.  The INA range has now been extended to include new part numbers for vehicle that include the Dacia Logan II, Sandero II 1.5 dCi, Mercedes-Benz A-Class 160CDi and 180CDi, B-Class 160CDi and 180CDi, and Citan 108, 109, 111 Cdi, CLA and GLA 180CDi/Nissan Note, Pulsar, Qashqai 1.5CDi/Renault Captur, Clio, Grand Scenic III, Kangoo, Megane III and Scenic 1.5dCi, 11/20011-.

Malcolm Short, Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket Technical Services Manager, said, “As the largest OE supplier of FEAD components, INA can offer the most comprehensive and up-to-date OE content range in the aftermarket to help workshops deal with this trend.”
