Schaeffler REPXPERT has released the second instalment of its inspirational Wrenches and Wisdom video series, offering an insightful look into the diverse pathways leading to success in the motor trade.

The latest episode highlights the inspiring journeys of Colin Denton, TV’s Classic Car Garage star and CEO of North London Garages Group Training Association, Louise Baker, founder of Womanic in Birmingham, and Simon Powney of Markhams Garage in Herefordshire.

Colin Denton's story begins with a childhood fascination with motor vehicles, leading him to an apprenticeship at the age of 16, the establishment of his own garage, and eventually a career in motor trade education. His narrative highlights the importance of hands-on experience and the joy of working alongside like-minded apprentices.

Louise Baker's journey was less conventional, marked by a series of diverse job roles before realising her true passion lay with cars. Her story emphasises the significance of self-discovery and the courage to return to a beloved trade, ultimately leading her to become a successful independent business owner.

Simon Powney's tale is one of mentorship and learning. Starting with an apprenticeship and gaining invaluable skills from experienced mentors, Simon's dedication to learning on the job has propelled him to his current position as Garage Director.

“The Wrenches and Wisdom series celebrates the unique journeys that lead to success in the motor trade, inspiring the next generation of automotive professionals,” said Matthew Selby, Sales and Marketing Director at Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions Ltd.  “By sharing real-life stories, we aim to highlight the opportunities, challenges, and rewards of building a career in this dynamic industry.”
