Cromax was one of several large refinish paint companies returning to Automechanika for the first time in many years. It was showcasing its latest digital colour tool technology and presenting several innovative new product offerings.
Kim Clarke, Cromax Brand Manager EMEA welcomed the return to Frankfurt commenting, "We are delighted to be back at Automechanika after a twelve-year absence. It gives us a great opportunity to get close to customers and to demonstrate how Cromax can improve productivity at every step of the repair process and how it delivers on its promise of being about more than just paint.”
The new Cromax Ultra Performance Energy Clear CC6700 was one of the main talking points. Listed in the prestigious Automechanika Green Directory 2014 in the Parts and Components category, Kim says it is the brands most productive clear ever, offering a combination of a flawless, high-gloss finish and impressive cure speed meaning reduced energy consumption. She comments, "CC6700 dries extremely quickly at room temperature, so bodyshops need very little energy to work with it, and, when baked, parts can be assembled after only 15 minutes.”
Other product innovations being introduced by Cromax included the NS2602 and NS2607 non-sanding primer surfaces, which offer the possibility of accelerated process times. These products are easy to apply, fast to recoat and deliver an improved appearance. They also save time by eliminating the need for a two-stage build-up.
As well as these new products there was also an emphasis on service and information development. For example, visitors could see ChromaWeb in action, a new and comprehensive Cloud-based colour retrieval and product management software package. ChromaWeb is the successor to the well-known ColorNet Pro software from Cromax.
ChromaVision Pro the powerful second-generation spectrophotometer from Cromax was also on display. This now features powerful new software, which takes colour-matching accuracy to a new level and greatly speeds up the matching process.
