Ring Automotive has introduced a new bulb stock stand to help garages focus on the great profit opportunities that selling bulbs can bring.
The BU194 is an instant stock solution for garages and workshops, containing 26 of the fastest moving 12v boxed bulbs to cover 96% of the car market. The wall mounted stand comes pre-merchandised with a total of 194 bulbs. Bulbs are also E marked and bar coded.
Also included with the stand is additional marketing support material, including a 12v wall chart, listing the references Ring offer, with images and line drawings making it easy to identify the correct replacement. There is also a poster giving information on the importance of E marking, plus two stockist stickers.
The package will give garages more confidence when it comes to bulb sales, as many miss out on this important profit opportunity. Research by Ring has found many garages undercharge for bulb replacement, with 46% only charging at cost and 9% not charging at all on some bulbs.
Ring says mechanics should not be worried about charging for bulbs as they are vital safety critical components and price is not a major motivational factor when it comes to customers keeping cars road legal. They also suggest that rather than charging minimal prices garages should benchmark their charges against dealers and retail warehouses.
