JLM Diesel Particulate Filter cleaner is a simple additive that can be poured into the fuel tank on every vehicle servicing, to effectively clean the DPF, thus ensuring better system performance and extended filter life.

 

The DPF cleaner should be used as a preventative maintenance method on all diesel cars. By simply adding a 100ml dose to the diesel tank when servicing, the additive will start to work immediately in two ways. Firstly, it uses a catalyst to bind to the soot particles during combustion, lowering the temperature that they can be burnt off at. Secondly, the additive also increases the fuel burn temperature, which in turn raises the exhaust temperature, increasing the temperature inside the soot trap, burning off of any excess soot in the filter trap, and aiding the vehicle’s regeneration system.

 

Older vehicles fitted with a DPF and vehicles that undertake mainly short urban journey cycles, are especially prone to soot particle build up in the filter, as the exhaust system struggles to reach high regeneration temperature where the residual is burnt off. Clogged DPF’s will seriously effect the performance of a vehicle and may require expensive replacement.

 

Due the unique combination of additives contained in JLM DPFC, the soot burns at lower temperature, so it will not cause a ‘runaway’ regeneration, or cause a failure due to excessive heat during regeneration.
