J&S Automotive hosted three training sessions, on its hugely popular JLM lubricants and additives range last month.

 

The one and a half hour sessions were attended by mechanics and motor factors from across Ireland and were presented by Gilbert Groot, the Managing Director and founder of JLM Lubricants.

 

The sessions covered the comprehensive JLM range of cleaning and maintenance solutions and additives, with a particular emphasis on the increasingly important and potentially lucrative area of DPF cleaning and maintenance. Gilbert explained that JLM offers the most comprehensive and innovative range of solutions in this field with a three stage, traffic light system approach, which reflects the DPF dash warning system on many cars.

 

For preventative maintenance Gilbert recommended JLM Diesel DPF ReGen Plus, a solution designed to keep particulate filters in optimal condition. Its high concentration of active ingredients ensures that soot in the DPF burns at a lower temperature improving the regeneration process, making it especially useful for cars with short journey cycles.

 

If the DPF warning light is illuminated on a car the recommendation from JLM is to use JLM DPF Cleaner. Gilbert explained that this has a high concentration of active additives not present in competitor products, which makes it one of the most effective cleaners available. It aids low speed regeneration, improves system performance and reduces emissions. According to Gilbert, its use will generally resolve initial DPF warning light issues.

 

For more serious problems, such as when a car is in limp mode, Gilbert recommends the JLM DPF Cleaning Toolkit used with the JLM Cleaning & Flush Fluid Package. This effectively cleans and restores very dirty diesel particulate filters and offers a very effective solution without the cost and inconvenience of a replacement. The process is quick and easy with no disassembly required and can mean a big reduction in emissions.
