After 60 years of valued service, Joe Martin retires this week as Parts Manager with Divanes Volkswagen in Casteisland, Co. Kerry.

On July 14 Joe will leave Divanes and it marks a remarkable landmark at the Volkswagen dealership in Castleisland as the dedicated stores manager clocks out for the last time.

Joe joined Divanes on July 15 1958 and retires this week having managed the stores department for the Divane family across three generations. As well as the Volkswagen brand, Joe headed up the stores that stocked a wide range of parts not only for Volkswagen cars, but Audi and Mazda cars, and  also for Porsche tractors and the small grey 20 Fergusons amongst others.

Joes career has been recognised for his professionalism by the German automaker in the past having received both the gold and diamond pins from head office in Germany in recognition for the professionalism he brought to the job. Joe was known for his attention to detail and for always having a smile on his face.

As a friend, mentor and leader Joe brought his best to work every single day and will be sorely missed at Divanes.
