One of the latest conversions from recovery truck maker Roger Dyson, has just been added to the Roadside Vehicle Services fleet, a Scottish based recovery operator and vehicle rental business.
It is a Dyson Hydraloader 8000La (Low approach) slidebed, mounted on a 26-tonne Mercedes-Benz Axor 2528 chassis, bought as a curtainsider by the customer and converted at the Roger Dyson factory in Droitwich, Worcestershire.
Commenting on the new addition David McVey of Roadside said, “Roger’s the man as far as recovery units are concerned. Dyson equipment is the best – it’s as simple as that.” The latest Hydraloader has an 8,000kg capacity platform which is remote radio-controlled and can be used with ease by a single Roadside operative to recover anything up to a fully-laden 7.5-tonne truck. The loading angle can be reduced further thanks to the air suspended chassis, which also has a steering rear axle for increased manoeuvrability.
