Somora Motor Parts who are celebrating 25 years in business this year, have just launched their latest 2011/2012 Thermal Systems catalogue.

This new catalogue, with over 450 pages, lists in excess of 1,800 part numbers with over 10,500 individual applications, making it over two and a half times bigger than their previous catalogue.   Somora have redesigned the new catalogue to make it more user friendly. The different types of thermal products are now listed together under each individual vehicle model, rather then the previous way of dividing the catalogue up into individual product groups.

A feature of the new catalogue is the massively increased range of Intercoolers for turbo charged cars. Since the change to CO2 based VRT and road tax rates in 2008, there has been a huge increase in the percentage of diesel engine vehicles on our roads. So far this year, over 70% of new cars are diesel, virtually all of them are fitted with intercoolers. In the medium to large car sector, the diesel market share is effectively 100%.  Over the next decade, we can expect to see even greater demand for intercoolers, as turbo charging will become a much more common feature on petrol engine cars as well. Intercoolers are frequently damaged in collisions and can also fail due to the effects of vibration and oil contamination, making them an essential product for both the crash repair specialist and mechanics alike.

Up until relatively recently air-conditioning was the preserve of luxury cars.  Within the last 5 years, air-conditioning has become standard on virtually all cars, from small family size models upwards. Somora have the extensive range to service this expanding market.
