ProDrive is a new entity in the Irish automotive aftermarket which sets out to be an independent garage ally in an increasingly complex technological sector. It is an official Irish agent for the highly respected Launch diagnostic and aftermarket equipment range.  

The company has been set up by Kevin O’Brien, who has a wealth of diagnostic experience. Kevin worked in a Mercedes commercial dealership for many years, where he first discovered his diagnostic skills and continued to develop his expertise working in Australia. He says, “I have always had a great relationship with the guys at Launch UK and when I moved back to Ireland they approached me to become an agent. Launch has an excellent product range and the global resources to develop the type of solutions that independent garages need, so I was delighted with the opportunity.”

Initially Kevin is concentrating on some specific areas in the range. Diagnostic equipment is the main thrust, where it can offer solutions for all types of garage, from basic to dealer level. He is also offering equipment which allows workshops to tap into two rapidly growing sectors, AC servicing and automatic transmission servicing. 

Kevin will also offer garages solutions to other issues that Launch are addressing, with DPF cleaning being a prime example. Here, Kevin can provide a very cost effective method of cleaning DPFs without disassembly, which has already proven popular with garages.

However, Kevin’s philosophy goes far beyond just supplying equipment. He says, “Especially with diagnostics, the key is really about support for the customer. That is why I will always supply equipment set-up and ready to use. I will walk the customer through the operations step-by-step and I am always at the end of the phone to answer questions.”
