German oil and additive specialist LIQUI MOLY has introduced its new Gear Tronic II system which is designed to make automatic transmission fluid changes much easier and bring them into the operating sphere of many more garages.
Fully draining an automatic transmission before fluid replacement is a challenge with much of the oil remaining in the unit. The Gear Tronic II makes it possible to replace the entire transmission oil. Depending on the vehicle, access is either via the dipstick guide tube, the hose connections to the transmission oil cooler or directly to the transmission.
The percise simultaneous emptying and filling of the transmission takes place fully automatically and does not have to be supervised. The menu navigation via a touchscreen takes place with computer support and is particularly intuitive. The Gear Tronic II has a vehicle database and shows which transmission oil the respective vehicle needs and how large the filling quantity is. This simplifies the work routine and protects against faults and expensive claims.
The Gear Tronic II also allows cleaning and care additives can also be integrated into the service. LIQUI MOLY says this makes technical sense and means additional business for the garage.
