The NGK-sponsored M-Sport Rally team got off to a winning start in the 2017 FIA World Rally Championship with victory for Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia at the Rallye Monte-Carlo. Winning on its maiden outing, the Ecoboost-powered Ford Fiesta WRC continues M-Sport’s immaculate record, with another victory on another debut of another new car.

There was a double celebration with the second M-Sport car driven by Ott Tänak and Martin Järveoja overcoming some major obstacles to secure an impressive third place.

Mark Hallam, Marketing Manager, NGK Spark Plugs said, "We would like to congratulate the M-Sport team and their drivers for making such an impressive start to this year’s championship. I’m sure that all our customers who are WRC fans are looking forward to following the team’s progress over the course of what should be an exciting season.”

Sébastien Ogier, who is the reigning FIA World Rally Champion  said, "Obviously, I feel really great. It always feels good to win at Rallye Monte-Carlo, but this year we had one of the most difficult challenges we have ever had. We had to contend with some really demanding conditions and also had a new car and a new team, it’s really incredible.”

NGK Spark Plugs is a leading supplier of original equipment spark plugs, glow plugs, NTK Lambda and other engine management sensors, plus ignition coils. It is also a major sponsor and supplier to leading motorsport teams.
