Mazda Ireland is pleased to report an extremely positive start to the 142 registration plate change at Mazda Ireland with sales up 46 per cent versus the same period last year.

To date, the 2014 performance has also been buoyant with an increase in sales of 32% year on year, outperforming the market by 10%.

This mirrors the success of SKYACTIV technology and the sixth generation model range globally. Mazda Motor Corporation yesterday reported record profits and in Europe, Mazda has become the fastest growing volume car manufacturer with sales growth of 23% to the half year point.

The launch of the all-new Mazda3 in January has helped achieve this result adding even more weight to the stunning line-up of sixth generation SKYACTIV models including the Mazda6 and the increasingly popular CX-5. The addition of 'Mazda Choices' flexible finance programme, ideally suited to today's consumers, has also significantly helped in achieving this result in Ireland.

In July, the all-new Mazda3 was the company’s biggest selling model with 40% of the total sales in the peak month.  This year so far the all-new Mazda3 has proved to be a success with buyers achieving a 47% improvement Year on Year and has enjoyed a global success winning several design awards and being one of only three cars shortlisted for the 2014 World Car of the Year Awards.

Tony Howarth, Managing Director, Mazda Motor Ireland, feels that “2014 has proven to be a buoyant year for the industry with more people deciding to invest in a new car than in recent years.  The Mazda line-up has been strengthened by an all-new Mazda3 this year which continues to be our best-selling model and offers a complete package of stylish looks, high levels of specification and driving fun.  Next year will be even more exciting for us as we launch three all-new models including a bigger, sportier and more high tech Mazda2.  This is a car we expect to attract a whole new customer to the Mazda brand and we are extremely pleased with the press reaction to the car to date”.

As well as the great new product line up, Mazda Ireland has grown market share with the introduction of Mazda Choices – a flexible finance package which offers low monthly payments, a €1000 deposit contribution and guaranteed residual value for peace of mind.  With the current SKYACTIV model range and attractive ownership packages, Mazda have more than trebled the number of customers buying on the manufacturer finance scheme.
