The new Gates Horizon Micro-V Stretch belt has become increasingly popular, as more and more vehicle manufacturers are using them in new models.

The idea of the stretch belt was pioneered by Ford, to do away with a tensioner and thereby save on production assembly time & cost. The stretch belt system has since been adopted by Fiat, BMW, Mazda & Peugeot/Citroen.
