The team at the Mirka stand at Automechanika Frankfurt were busy throughout the event demonstrating the company’s latest intelligent automotive refinishing solutions.
Mirka’s Optmised Surface Preparation (OSP) system was the star of the show, a step-by-step process combining high-tech abrasives with innovative power tools for increased speed, control and efficiency. OSP is also available as an electric system, dispensing with the need for compressed air or pneumatic hoses.
The Mirka Golden Finish system, was also being demonstrated, with Mirka experts guiding visitors through the post paint process seamlessly for a perfect surface finish.
The myMirka mobile app was also attracting great interest. Using Mirka’s intelligent power tools and the myMirka app users can track the sanding speed as well as the instant vibration exposures during the whole working process. The myMirka Dashboard allows users to follow key measurements for occupational health and safety and also provides data such as running hours, motor temperature and other predictive maintenance indicators for the tools.
Mirka also launched two new abrasives ranges at the show, Mirka Iridium and Novastar. Stefan Sjöberg, CEO of Mirka said, "Iridium and Novastar are not just an improvement on our earlier products, we’ve really aimed at redefining abrasives manufacturing technology with new optimised grains, new coating and curing techniques as well as Mirka’s new multihole patterns.” He added, "They both have a unique dust-repellent surface that doesn’t clog, so the grains stay sharp longer.”
The paper-backed abrasive, Iridium is introduced in grits 80-600 for 125 and 150 mm discs, as well as 81x133 mm and 70x400 mm strips. Novastar is the new film-backed abrasive that is waterproof and non-clogging. The grit range is 80-600 and products available are 125 and 150 mm discs.
