Defending Triton Showers National Rally champion Sam Moffett and Noel O'Sullivan clocked up another win in the championship as he takes victory in the Sligo Stages Rally.

On the event that was postponed earlier in the year because of the extremely hot weather and melting tarmac on the rally stages, Moffett took the lead when this year’s two main title contenders crashed off the road on consecutive stages towards the end of the rally.

Moffett’s younger brother Josh, the rally leader at the time, was first to go, on the sixth of nine stages, while double champion Declan Boyle retired on the following stage Those retirements leaves runner up Joe McGonigle and Ciaran Geaney, who were 46 seconds off the pace in Sligo to take over the points lead in this years title.
