Federal-Mogul Motorparts, has announced the development of a customer support programme through its MOOG brand. The move will see regular technical and product support updates provided alongside its OE-quality components. This will enable the brand to offer a complete steering, suspension and wheel end bearings solutions to customers.

The first major update includes two ‘how to’ videos on ball joint installation (see below) and wheel alignment and the results of competitor tests. Regular updates will be made throughout the year and will be available online at  www.fmcampus.eu.

“Offering OE-quality products to our customers always needs to be accomplished by providing high-level customer support and service,” said Paul Tersi, Brand Manager Chassis Parts, Federal-Mogul Motorparts, EMEA. “This is why we have invested in a long-term programme that allows technicians to access support for steering, suspension and wheel end bearings, whenever they need it.”

MOOG’s programme also offers comparative information on vehicle components through its own testing. The importance of different mechanical characteristics of vehicle components to durability and driving comfort is explained, followed with a competitive test. In this instalment, the brand explains how its link stabiliser (FD-LS-0090), for popular Ford models, performs better compared to competitors and OE-equivalents. In this example, MOOG’s stud swing design offers 34⁰ of rotation while the OE angle is 29⁰ which offers better resistance to high loads and therefore higher durability.

MOOG says it will continue to produce technical support materials throughout the year to inform, educate and help technicians with day-to-day steering, suspension and wheel end bearing servicing complications. For more information about the first update visit www.MOOGparts.eu or contact your local stockist.
