Car care and accessories have been sectors of the automotive aftermarket that have been thriving during the pandemic as people have had more time to give their vehicles some TLC. One company that has been helping motor factors and accessory outlets to make the most of this has been Carcessories.

Greg Lonergan of Carcessories says that the business and has never been busier and that the team is working flat out not only to satisfy demand for existing lines, but also to expand ranges and bring on board new products. He says, “Demand for brands such as Turtle Wax, STP and Maypole has never been stronger. I think many motorist have been discovering some of the excellent car care products we have to offer, seen the results they can achieve and have come back for more.”

One of the latest additions to the Carcessories portfolio is the MoTip brand of Car Repair Paints. MoTip is a leader in this field and is part of a European group that produces more than 80 million aerosols per year. MoTip products are ideal for the repair of minor damage and scratches and the system consists of all required product for the repair. This includes four colours of primer, degreaser, under body coating, a paint system based on the original car colours, a clear varnish in high gloss quality and spot blender. Car repair paints are also available in 12 ml touch-up pencils.

Greg comments, “MOTIP is a leading European brand and has a wealth of the resources and experience. It offers innovative, attractive products that make an excellent addition to any motor factor product line-up.”

As a European supplier MOTIP ships products direct from the Netherlands, meaning availability is always excellent. As most trade businesses will know, this is not always the case with, particularly, UK sourced products. Greg comments, “The challenges of Brexit and the Covid pandemic have meant you have to work extremely hard just to put product on the shelves at present. We are very fortunate in having our vastly experienced Purchasing Manager, Steven Power, working closely with our key suppliers to ensure that we have the products that our customers need when they need them.”

Completing the picture and ensuring that motor factors can make the most of the car care and accessory business opportunities available, is the Carcessories sales team of Robert Duffy, Tim Murphy and Gearoid Clarke. Greg comments, “Our sales team have been working closely with customers right since the start of the Covid situation to maximise sales potential across our ranges and ensure that customers have the very best in terms of product displays and merchandising. This has allowed us to expand business even in these tough times.”
