Motorsport Ireland has announced the appointment of Art McCarrick as Sporting Manager.

The 34 year-old Sligo native, who joined the organisation in 2015 as Sport Development Officer, will start his new role in the coming weeks as part of administrative restructuring within the organisation.

Speaking on his appointment Art said; “I’m honoured to have been promoted to this position and I am very much looking forward to helping shape the future of motorsport in Ireland with the help of our stakeholders, commissions, clubs and competitors with whom I’ve built strong relationships over the past seven years. I hope that my experience, knowledge and passion for the sport can bring value to the role and support the great foundations that are already in place.”

Another addition to the Motorsport Ireland office is the appointment of a new Head of Finance, Oisín Murphy. Oisín joins Motorsport Ireland having previously worked for the Residential Tenancies Board and Mitsubishi Ireland.

President of Motorsport Ireland Aiden Harper said; “I welcome the decision of the board of IMF to endorse these appointments and this is a great move forward for our organisation, the office is a critical component of how we do our business and run our sport. I wish both Art & Oisín every success in their new roles. I would also like to express my gratitude to outgoing Head of Finance Chris Marchant, for his contribution to the organisation over the previous six years."
