Motul is celebrating its 170th anniversary this year, making it one of the world’s oldest lubricant companies. The brand has been lubricating machines since long before the invention of the motor car and has brought the automotive world the three most important developments in lubricant technology in the last 75 years.
As the company that brought the world the first Multigrade, the first Semi-Synthetic and first Fully-Synthetic motor oils, Motul has long been at the cutting edge of road lubricants. Today Motul offers lubricating solutions for engines of all kinds, including the world’s first specially designed Hybrid Vehicle range.
Currently, Motul has one of the most comprehensive product ranges on the market and the Motul 8100 range, which tops its everyday motor oil ranges is fully synthetic in all of its variants. Motul compares the 8100 range to a Swiss Army Knife, combining, as it does, many different recent type approvals for engines from a host of different OEMs.
Motul has devised the 8100 range to cover a wide spectrum of cars, with full OEM approval but with a minimum number of references. This includes, normally aspirated, turbo and supercharged petrol and diesel engines. The 8100 range also has a huge racing heritage and is the the mandated engine oil of the ROKiT F4 British Championship certified by FIA, where future F1 stars are made.
In addition to engine oils to cater for any type of vehicle, Motul products extend to transmission oils, brake fluids, greases, workshop spray products, cooling fluids, antifreeze and hydraulic fluids. The brand also offers a specialist range of Motul Classic lubricants for passenger cars, as well as a similarly wide range for Motorcycles.
Motul also offers products in the fast growing additive market, with two ranges of additives for engines, transmissions and cooling systems. One is aimed at professionals for workshop use and even includes an automatic dispensing system, which allows new additive to be installed while a workshop technician gets on with other tasks.
The Motul consumer additive range offers a wide range of opportunities to retailers. There are four petrol additives, an engine flush, and injector cleaner, an octane booster, and a catalytic converter cleaner. The additives range offers four similar diesel-specific additives, but with a Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner instead of one for Catalytic Convertors. In addition, there are three oil treatments, a radiator stop leak, as well as a specific purpose designed Hybrid Engine Flush.
Motul has a dedicated technical back-up service available and the full range of Motul Lubricants and related products is available in Ireland through Alpha Lubricants. For more information contact sales@alphalubricants.ie or phone 021 488 9814.
