Honda has announced that a host of new motorcycles and scooters will be launched in the Irish market at the Carole Nash Irish Motorbike and Scooter Show this February 27th.
The bikes being introduced include an all new Goldwing GL1800 and the CBR 1000RR Fireblade as well as the new CB1000R, NC750 and NSC50R scooter.
Since the very first ‘Wing’ was launched in 1975 the bike has evolved to become the most revered touring bikes in the World and is the consistent leader in its class.
The New 40th Anniversary model boasts a newly designed layered fairing which reduces buffeting and offers the rider better wind protection. For added luxury, both rider and pillion seats are finished with a new perforated waterproof polyurethane cover that offers superior comfort especially on long journeys. The standard trim of the Anniversary Edition includes heated grips and seats, in addition to a leg warming system. It has an audio system with MP3 compatibility as well as cruise control and electric reverse.
Robert Galbraith, chairman of Honda Distributors, commented, “Very few bikes have stood the test of time as well as the Gold Wing has. It’s a testament to the great styling and comfort that this motorcycle is sought after by so many touring bike enthusiasts today. It is our privilege to launch the most advanced and comfortable Gold Wing yet onto the Irish market in our 40th year of production. In addition visitors to the Carole Nash Irish Motorbike and Scooter Show will have a unique opportunity to see other exciting new entries to the market in advance of the first bikes arriving to these shores.“
These entries will include the first factory manufactured track focused CBR1000RR Fireblade. This is a bike that comes as standard with Öhlins suspension, Brembo monobloc brake callipers and a slipper clutch system. Its engine is upgraded from its predecessor with a new cylinder head. This combined with a new exhaust system delivers power that confirms the ‘blades as a true leader in the superbike class’.
Honda also announced that they are showcase the new CB1000R naked sports bike, the Honda NC750X Crossover Commuter, the NSC50R scooter and the legendary VFR800F sports tourer at the show as well.
