MEYLE has introduced a new rear axle trailing arm to replace two original components. It  is suitable for 5, 6 and 7 Series models, without restriction regarding the year of manufacture.

Wulf Gaertner Autoparts AG's engineers have developed the new component to make sure repair professionals always have the right part at hand. Thanks to its re-engineered ball pin and steel shims it replaces two different original designs making the MEYLE part fully compliant with any year of manufacture.

When replacing the rear axle trailing arm on BMW 5, 6 or 7 Series models, the technician must choose the right part from two different designs. To ensure the correct version is ordered the mechanic must either research the precise year of manufacture or uninstall the used part. If he makes a mistake or the manufacturer's specifications are incorrect, the repair will take much longer than expected.  This means extra time on the job, disappointed customers and additional costs.

With its innovative rear axle trailing arm, MEYLE offers a repair solution designed to reduce repair effort while preventing installation of an incorrect part. What makes this new development so special is that in-house engineers have redesigned the ball pin of the rear axle trailing arm to fit all BMW models of the 5, 6 and 7 Series, whichever year they have been manufactured. The original version also uses different steel shims firmly attached to the assembly. The MEYLE rear axle trailing arm comes with the requisite mounting hardware and installation information plus two made-to-measure steel shims for the mechanic to pick the one corresponding to the ball joint.

Unlike the OE solution the universal design of the MEYLE component allows for full-service rear axle repairs on the following models: BMW 5 Series (E39) (11/95-05/04), BMW 5 Series (E60, E61) (07/03--), BMW 6 Series (E63, E64) (01/04--) and BMW 7 Series (E65, E66) (11/01--).
