Vinny Byrne is launching a new programme of training courses for the Irish bodyshop sector, which will take place at its state of the art training centre in Athlone. A range of course modules will be on offer, to suit various levels of skills and experience, covering all aspects of the vehicle repair and refinishing process.
The first course on offer during March is “An introduction to waterbased refinishing”. The course will be a one-day intensive programme. Training fees are very competitive and include lunch, protective clothing and all course material.
Vinny Byrne’s Refinish Training Manager, Declan O’Reilly says, “This course is aimed at people involved in refinishing, who wish to up-skill and become more familiar with the waterbased refinishing process.” He adds, “It would also be of interest to anyone involved in the motor trade, who wishes to familiarise themselves with modern refinishing techniques and what is required to offer an effective and compliant repair service to their customers.”
The course is a mix of lecture room presentation and practical demonstrations
of equipment, materials and techniques using the full sized spray booth and specialist preparation areas at the training school.
The training school at Athlone has been used in recent months as a training facility just for Vinny Byrne customers, however the company says it is now opening up the facilities to all repairers to meet the growing need for practical training in the industry. Declan says, “The feedback we are getting is that repairers want practical and effective training options that can help them cope with changes in the industry. At present this type of training is in short supply, but our new programme will be designed to meet these needs and will be made available to all sectors of the trade.”
