Braking specialist Brembo was at the recent Motortec event in Madrid where it presented some new innovations and picked up a significant award.

Brembo received an award at the Motortec Innovation Gallery for its Beyond EV Kit, a new range which is fully dedicated to electric vehicles. This features specially coated discs and innovative brake pads, substantially enhancing Brembo’s Aftermarket offer for electric cars. The new components are quieter and more resistant to oxidation and therefore last longer. A double-protective treatment helps to prevent corrosion of the entire kit and adds to disc aesthetics.  A special copper-free friction material with a galvanized backing plate reduces both dust and road noise when braking.

Use of regenerative braking on electric cars mean less use of friction braking. Over time, this can result in the formation of rust on brake system components, reducing safety and increasing maintenance costs. By using innovative design and materials Brembo has overcome this issue.

Also introduced at Motortec was a new range of heavy-duty products including a full range of brake pads and an extensive range of brake discs to provide the latest replacement solutions dedicated to larger commercial vehicles.

Brembo was also showcasing its latest innovation for the light commercial vehicle sector, a new family of floating calipers and brackets for LCVs. Derived from Brembo’s experience in the Original Equipment market, the new solution is able to cope with the structural and functional peculiarities of the most popular and recent light commercial vehicles on the market. Brembo’s latest line of brake callipers guarantees extremely high-quality and reliability, ensuring better resistance to atmospheric corrosion through the design of seals that prevent infiltrations. The result is a new entire offering of brake calipers, which include 86 unique part numbers for the main manufacturers of light commercial vehicles.
