Original equipment manufacturer and renowned lighting specialist, OSRAM, has introduced its new range of BATTERYcharge SOLAR panels.
The automotive giant has been increasing its automotive car care and equipment range and venturing into the battery charging field is the latest product category launch OSRAM has been working on.
The new BATTERYcharge SOLAR range is the perfect off grid power solution for caravans, campervans and outdoor use. It consists of three new products, all of which are water resistant, can be used in wet conditions and can fold away for easy storage. They also come with OSRAM’s two-year guarantee.
The BATTERYcharge SOLAR 100W provides up to 100W of free solar power to charge and maintain 12V leisure batteries on caravans, campervans, and RVs. The product comes with a 12V/10A charge control regulator with a USB output port and a robust aluminium stand. It is also supplied with a five metre battery lead and connecting clamps and is easy to set up: users simply need to plug it in, and it works instantly.
Like the BATTERYcharge SOLAR 100W, the next model up, the BATTERYcharge SOLAR 200W, provides up to 200W of solar power. It too comes with a five metre lead, as well as connecting clamps and comes with 12V/20A charge control regulator with a USB output port. It’s slightly larger in size than the 100W version but is still simple to set up and use.
The BATTERYcharge SOLAR 20W is an incredibly unique product that provides up to 20W of free solar power to charge small electrical devices, such as mobile phones, tablets and laptops using the integrated USB-C and USB-A charging ports. It is so easy to set up, users simply need to fully unfold it and point it at the sun. Crucially, the product is water resistant, can function in overcast conditions and is robust and durable. It’s compact and lightweight size means it’s great for camping and hiking. Furthermore, it includes a conveniently integrated stand so it can stand independently and can be folded away for easy storage.
OSRAM’s Marketing Manager, Terri Clark, commented, “With staycations becoming ever more popular, and we’re seeing campervans on the road more often, people are looking for off grid charging solutions to charge their devices, as well as their vehicles. Therefore, we introduced our new solar charger range, which we are excited to reveal to the automotive industry.”
Terri adds, “Automotive batteries naturally discharge when not in use. Therefore, solar battery maintainers offer an ideal low carbon, environmentally friendly solution for maintaining the vehicle battery when inactive, as well as supplying power for 12V leisure batteries. Our new range of battery maintainers give users confidence and peace of mind that their next adventure will be powered by a quality assured OSRAM product.”
