Temple Street Children's Hospital now has a new ward to be named "The Surgical Ward" thanks to the generosity of Topaz and its staff who have donated €105,000 for the care of sick children.

Ireland's leading fuels and convenience retailer, who has been charity partners with Temple Street Children's Hospital since 2009, raised the money through a nationwide collection via donation boxes in its forecourt stores and at its staff headquarters.

Paul Candon, Marketing and Corporate Services Director at Topaz said: "We are very proud to make this donation to Temple Street Children's Hospital, who look after tens of thousands of sick children every year. The new surgical ward is vital for the hospital and the children in its care.  We are also very pleased our donation will go towards providing medical equipment and facilities for families."
