NGK Spark Plugs had a starring role alongside many of the World’s leading automotive companies and two and four-wheel motorsport legends at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. The supplier of original equipment spark plugs, glow plugs and NTK Lambda sensors exhibited at the four-day event which attracted tens of thousands of motoring enthusiasts.

Marketing Manager Gerard Irving said, “As a major component manufacturer we feel it is important that we support such a fantastic event as the Festival of Speed which attracts tens of thousands of motorsport enthusiasts who we can then engage with and tell them more about our company and products.” He added, “Our parts are used by many of the top motorsport teams because of their technical excellence and reliability; attributes that are also shared by the parts that are fitted to millions of vehicles that are driven on European roads.”

The 2014 Festival of Speed attracted a host of racing legends including former F1 World champions John Surtees, Damon Hill, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.

At the festival NGK highlighted how it has been involved in F1 since 1964 and its racing spark plugs are used by current teams that include McLaren Mercedes, Ferrari and Mercedes. The company also supplies the Qatar M-Sport World Rally Team, which competes in the FIA World Rally Championship and Moto GP and Speedway riders and teams.

NGK is also the title sponsor of the BRC Challenge Trophy, now in its tenth year and forming part of the MSA British Rally Championship in 2014.
