Nissan has been showing off new technology, that it plans to employ on new vehicles to help reduce fatal and serious injuries caused by accidents.

Called the “Safety Shield” concept, it involves sophisticated processing of data from external cameras, so that avoidance action can be taken from potential danger. There is also a Predictive Forward Collision Warning System, which uses millimetre-wave radar to detect deceleration of vehicles ahead.

The Safety Shield also has a system to avoid car-parking shunts by pressing the wrong pedal and a Multi-Sensing System with Rear Camera to assist with blind spot warnings, lane departure warnings and moving object detection.
