Along with providing guidance and auditing for the Certified Steel Standard in the bodyshop sector,  the company also now offers a range of other expert services, that can provide convenient and cost effective solutions in many business areas.

 

Arthur O’Sullivan of NMU, says one area of high demand at present is in the area of ISO 9001:2015 standard consulting. He comments, "Companies that have IS0 9001 and are moving to the 2015 standard, find that this can be a quite a daunting task without external support. We use our expertise and knowledge to update systems and procedures more quickly and assist with pre-inspection reviews.” He adds, "It is something we have done for many CVRT centres and other motor trade businesses, who have found it a much easier way of implementing the system needed to achieve the new, higher standard.”

 

NMU has recently introduced a totally new service of providing replacement CVRT testers for holiday and sickness cover for LCV testing and HCV & LCV testers to carry out internal quality checks.

 

Another area where NMU’s expert services are in demand, is in the provision of Breathing Air Quality Testing. Employers have an obligation of due care to employees under health and safety regulations and many spray paint booth users, in both the industrial and automotive sectors, utilise the services of NMU to ensure air quality in the workplace is certified as safe.

 

During 2016, NMU has also begun to offer a range of services such as: Manual Handling Training to FETAC level 6 and will shortly commence certification of competence for technicians in the area of Vehicle Tail Lift Inspections.
