OHRA was one of the many exhibitors at the recent CARS Expo in Liverpool. Robert Meadows, of OHRA, was on-hand demonstrating the OHRA cantilever rack system that expands the storage capabilities for dismantlers, allowing either 18 or 24 cars to be stored, in the same space that 6 could have been stored previously.
The up-right supports are designed to have many positions for cantilever beams that support vehicles or parts, where they can all be easily removed from the rack by a forklift. Each cantilever beam can be removed and inserted into the rack while the beam is level. This allows for quick and easy repositioning of the beams, while cars are still in position above and below the beams being inserted. Once inserted, the beams are locked into position with clips on the inside of the up-right support, firmly and completely locking the beam into position. The design of the system means that numerous configurations can be built, to suit a wide variety of needs and restrictions.
OHRA was also demonstrating two specialised forklifts that take cars and materials off the racks. The specialised forklifts have wheels that rotate 90 degrees, reducing the turning radius down to nothing and making turning a breeze in tight spaces. The only space needed between racks is to accommodate the forklift, meaning that a high concentration of cars could be conveniently stored in a small area.
