With thousands of businesses forced to close, but garages allowed to remain open under new Level 5 COVID-19 restrictions, adopting the correct social distancing and hygiene protocols has taken on new importance in workshops. Customers visiting a garage premises need to feel safe and confident, which often entails new operating practices and new methods of dealing with customers.

To find out about the changes he has made, AutobizIreland recently visited Anthony Manning of Mannings Garage in Kilmallock, Co. Limerick. Anthony explains how, since the start of the pandemic, he and his team have put in place new pre and post maintenance vehicle sanitisation procedures and high levels of in-car protection, to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.

In the video, Anthony also talks about the type of work that has been on the increase since the original COVID-19 lockdown and how customer attitudes to issues such as cabin filter changes, have been transformed over recent months.
