The April issue of Autobiz Magazine features the latest edition of Dipped Beam, the news publication from leading automotive lighting supplier OSRAM. This issue is an LED Special highlighting the wide range of OSRAM LED products and accessories available as well as the very considerable business opportunities they provide. 

Currently many LED ‘bulbs’ or retrofits are not road legal according to ECE regulations for use on the outside of the vehicle but OSRAM says that this is in the process of change and there are already new car projects under development where LED replacement or retrofit bulbs will be used. OSRAM is at the forefront of these developments and is also satisfying existing demand for LED retrofit bulbs for the interior and exterior of vehicles.

For example, LED retrofit interior bulbs, that allow a vehicle owner to create new lighting colours and effects in the passenger compartment and road legal LED aftermarket fit DRL (Daytime Running Lights) and FOG DRLs for increased visibility and maximum safety. Dipped Beam also shows how the problem of replacement LED’s setting off warning lights can be overcome with the LEDriving  CANbus Control unit. 

The LEDriving Fog Lamp range is another example of how drivers can now be offered powerful LED illumination for difficult driving conditions through a simple retro fit. Forward lighting application using halogen ECE types: H8, H10, H11 and H16 can be quickly and easily replaced for ungraded and advanced lighting performance.

For tuners and enthusiasts OSRAM is also now offering LEDambient Connect app-controlled styling lights. LEDambient TUNING LIGHTS Connect, LEDambient PULSE Connect and LEDambient HYBRID Connect have all been designed to offer an aftermarket fit solution to drivers looking to update their vehicles interior and exterior lighting with new LED technology. They connect to a free OSRAM App via Bluetooth and allow colours, modes, and brightness to be set remotely. A special feature even allows the lights to pulsate in time to music.
